My creative work is inspired by processes, nature & wildlife, and the human experience.
When I was 12, my father gave me my first disposable camera. We went on a drive through Cape Cod and took photos that are still some of my favorites to this day. When I look at them, I remember so many of the idiosyncrasies from that day. The power of a photograph is immeasurable.
In 2017, I saw an artist painting an incredible mural down my block and he allowed me to capture it. I didn’t know what it would lead to, I just felt something so much bigger than myself and went after it. I then taught myself video editing and made my first short documentary. This led to filming another artist, and another, and eventually I began traveling to capture people’s processes and stories. This became my path.
I believe storytelling is one of the best ways to preserve history and to learn from it. It opens us to empathetic thinking and the realization that everyone is living a complex life, perhaps with some aspects that may relate to your own.
